The Challenge

A tier-1 flight controls company was designing an innovative system for a new large commercial aircraft and required a hydraulic reservoir. EHA guidelines require that these reservoirs be 100% maintenance free. They must also last for the life of the aircraft.

The Solution

We designed an all-metal bellow-style reservoir which eliminated the need for elastomeric seals. This approach fulfilled the maintenance-free and lifetime-use provisions of the EHA spec, and additionally allowed for envelope and weight reduction—further optimizing the flight control design for our customer.
