Used in the anti-skid system for large
commercial and military aircraft, the couplings main function
is to provide a flexible interface between a speed indicator
transducer and the hub of the landing gear wheel. The transducer
produces a voltage that represents the speed of each individual
wheel on the landing gear. In a typical landing the tires
accelerate from zero to 140 mph in less than a tenth of a
second. The landing of an aircraft is an extremely demanding
environment for vibration, shock, heat and acceleration. |
