Actuators

Actuators from Metal Bellows are used where precision movement is important and/or in harsh environments where temperatures or environmental media preclude using rubber or plastics.

Thermal Actuators

Our wax filled bellows thermal actuator provides precise movement for a specified temperature range. The all welded stainless steel construction allows the actuator to withstand harsh operating environments and provides high reliability and long life.

Pneumatic Actuators

Another type of linear actuator, the Prime Mover™ bellows actuator, is designed to deliver precise, repeatable linear activation when the bellows assembly is pressurized. This type of actuator is popular with semiconductor and vacuum equipment manufacturers due to its superior reliability, contamination free operation, compact design and maintenance free operation. These units can be driven either hydraulically or pneumatically. Other features include leak tight actuation across the pressure boundaries, a cost effective design with few moving parts and all metal wetted surfaces to reduce contamination.
